Our Story
Cooking the Mediterranean way.
The Coastal Kitchen & Bar began with a simple idea: that the best meals are the ones shared slowly, beside people you love, with the sound of the water close by. We grew up around Mediterranean tables — long, generous, unhurried — and we wanted to bring that feeling to Manly.
Our cooking is built on restraint. Good olive oil, ripe tomatoes, fish caught that morning, pasta rolled by hand. We don't overcomplicate. We let the produce speak, and we let the season decide what's on the plate.

Fresh, local, daily.
Every morning before service, our team is at the markets. We work with Sydney Fish Market for the day's catch, with small growers across the Hawkesbury and Hunter for vegetables, and with a handful of trusted suppliers who care about provenance as much as we do.
If the oysters are particularly good this week, or the tomatoes are at their peak, you'll find them on the menu. That's the point — a kitchen that moves with what's best, not what's printed.
From the coast to the coast.
We draw from the whole Mediterranean — the lemon and herb of the Greek islands, the pasta craft of Italy, the charcoal and spice of the Levant, the bright acidity of southern France. But we cook it here, for Sydney, with Australian produce and a view of the Pacific.
It's not a recreation of somewhere else. It's a coastal kitchen that happens to love the Mediterranean — and hopes you'll feel a little of that warmth when you sit down.

We want you to feel like you've arrived somewhere good.
No fuss, no pretence. Just a warm welcome, a table by the water, and food worth lingering over. That's the hospitality we believe in.
